Cereal by killersnowman Cereal by killersnowman
nothing like grain in the morning! there is soo much hay / alfalfa around me and everymoring i drive past this tree and see the crazy cool long shadows from the early morning sun and this time i stopped for a picture. the elegent curve of the shadow is offset by the crazy cool abstractness of the rows of hay! i love the shot and am stoked at how cool it came out!

hope you enjoy and am looking forward to loads of awsome comments!

thank! =) =D

I always dig these sorts of patterned B&W images, and you did a very nice job with this one. I'd recommend removing the title from the image since it's distracting and seems cramped in the frame either way.

This is really pretty, and I like the rolling feel of it.

Ruined the whole feelof a really good image by tacking that cereal thing at the bottom. Get rid please!

I like the linear quality of the shadow, a rather odd shadow considering the crooked nature of the tree. The lines along the ground also make for a very interesting texture. The horizon is also offset a good distance from the canvas edges, and the sky is washed a bit on the lower end - perfect, IMO, for contrast against the darker field.

where on earth do you live, to make the sun create so long shadows as this?

i actually dont live on the earth.... jk ---------- i live on the central coast of california in a small town called Paso Robles... but its not the place but the time that made the shadows so intense, it was like 6:30 in the morning and there was no fog for a change and the sun was very low in the sky. thats how the shadows came out so sweet!

thanks!

This is great, that tree looks very strange but I think that's what makes the picture more interesting. It looks like a tired guard, left in the middle of nowhere to watch for the cereals. :trophy: - you get a trophy for the concept :)
